The African Writers' Evening is a bi-monthly event that features African writers of all genres at the Poetry Cafe in London.

Black Cultural Archive
BCA's main objectives are to collect, document, preserve and disseminate the history and culture of black people (of African and Caribbean ancestry) living in Britain.

Camden Arts Centre
Camden Arts Centre recently hosted an Africa Beyond artist in residence, Sherif El-Azma, a video artist from Cairo.

Creative Fruits
Creative Fruits has been working with Africa Beyond to develop innovative programming including a continuing relationship with multi-media artist Beyonder who was artist-in-residence during Africa 05.

Exiled Writers Ink
Exiled Writers aims to facilitate the wider dissemination of work by writers in exile and to ensure they have a platform, including many writers from the African continent living in the UK.

Gasworks
This exciting South London gallery hosts an International Residency Programme that enables non-UK based artists to live and work in London for a period up to three months. Africa Beyond is working with Gasworks to develop an Africa Beyond visual artists' residency programme for 2008.

Ghana 50 UK
On March 6, 1957, Ghana became the first country in Africa south of the Sahara to gain independence from colonial rule. 2007, marks 50 years of independence, including a full year of cultural events here in the UK. Africa Beyond will be covering these events throughout the year.

Greater London Authority
The GLA will be programming an exciting year of African arts and culture in London during 2007, including events marking major anniversaries like the Bicentenary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade and the 50th anniversary of Ghana's independence.

A central London Art Gallery showing contemporary art from all cultures around the planet, including cutting-edge art from Africa.

Poetry Translation Centre
Based at the School of Oriental and African Studies, the PTC translates contemporary poetry from non-European languages into English to the highest literary standards through a series of innovative collaborations between leading international poets and poets based in the UK.

Photographers' Gallery
The Photographers' Gallery is one of the UK's primary venues for photography and one of London's most popular public galleries. They are working with Africa Beyond to help develop our visual artists' residency project for 2008.

Royal Opera House
Lungelo Ngamlana is at the Royal Opera House for three months this spring (January - April 2007), as an Arts Council England International Artist Fellow. The fellowship is being hosted by Royal Opera House Education and coordinated by Africa Beyond. Lungelo is a senior teacher for Jikeleza, a project that brings dance to young people in Cape Town, and also works for the Calabash Dance Project.

SABDET
SABDET is a UK-based organisation which aims to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of indigenous publishing in Africa. SABDET is working with Africa Beyond to stage 'Word from Africa', an event celebrating African languages on 2 June at the British Museum.

Sable LitMag is an international publication for writers of colour. Editor Kadija George is working with Africa Beyond on projects to promote and celebrate the work of African writers.

Sandblast is an emerging organisation dedicated to promoting the cause of the people of Western Sahara through celebration of their unique culture.

Somethin' Else
Somethin' Else has designed and produced the Africa Beyond website for the BBC. Somethin' Else is a cross-platform production company, producing radio, TV and interactive entertainment.

Tate Modern
London's major gallery of modern and contemporary art is working with Africa Beyond on projects to explore cutting-edge African visual arts through talks, workshops and other events.

V&A
The V&A is working with Africa Beyond to support African visual arts. Their exhibition Uncomfortable Truths includes leading African artists. It addresses the ways in which the legacy of slavery informs contemporary art and design in a display of a series of works throughout the museum's public spaces, seeking to reassess human cost of slavery.

What's on Ghana
What's on Ghana is a bi-monthly magazine featuring event listings for theatre, dance, eating out, clubbing, music and sport. They are working with Africa Beyond to share content and coverage of the Ghana 50th celebrations.
