Ty has been a real ever innovative player on the UK hip-hop scene for over ten years now. With this album Ty and producer Drew have pulled off an urban classic - every track’s a winner. With an eclectic ensemble of over twenty musicians contributing to the album (and a full band and DJ for live sets), including premier vocals, 'Upwards' has a distinct live-session vibe. My favourite tracks include ‘Wait a Minute’, the fierce ‘Ha Ha’ and ‘Oh you want more?’, probably the first track in UK hip hop to sample a fairground barrel organ!
